REGGIO LINGUA
Italian language school in Reggio Emilia – Emilia Romagna
Founded in 2004, Reggio Lingua is a school specializing in teaching Italian. It is a CELI and CILS certification exam center as well as a member of ASILS and Eduitalia. The school’s goal is to introduce foreigners of all ages and nationalities to the Italian language and culture, as a key to accessing Italy and getting to know its artistic and cultural heritage. At the same time, students are encouraged to participate in the Italian way of life through authentic activities and experiences of daily life in which they can put into practice what they have learned in their classes.
Where we are
Reggio Emilia is known as the city of the “Tricolore” because the Italian national flag, a symbol of the unity of Italy, was born there. It is the capital of early childhood education, famous for its preschools and its pedagogical method “Reggio Approach” and it is home to the “Loris Malaguzzi International Center”. The absence of mass tourism, the cultural offers and the benefits of a small city make Reggio Emilia the ideal place to learn Italian and come into direct contact with the local population. The city is located in a strategic tourist position from which it is possible to reach the main attractions of northern and central Italy in a day. The school is located in an ancient building very near the historic center and it is equipped with bright and comfortable classrooms with air conditioning and Wi-Fi. Lessons are held in small groups to encourage the active participation of all students in a relaxed and familiar atmosphere.

Our Italian language school
Reggio Lingua organizes flexible Italian language courses according to the needs of each student. It offers weekly group courses, personalized individual courses, courses in preparation for CELI and CILS exams. All courses can be both face-to-face and online through Skype or Zoom. Among Reggio Lingua’s programs students have the opportunity to live and learn Italian at a teacher’s home choosing a “Homestay” program in various Italian locations. Furthermore, on request, Reggio Lingua organizes personalized study-holiday stays with programs for school or university groups where, in addition to the study of the Italian language, specific activities are planned based on the age of the students and their interests, such as shadowing in Reggio’s schools, guided visits to the dairies that produce the Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, to the producers of Balsamic Vinegar and Parma Ham, to the wineries producing Lambrusco. Combined with language courses, students can take cooking classes to learn how to prepare the main specialties of the Emilian gastronomy and opera singing classes to get in touch with the musical tradition of the Italian opera.
