L’Italiano Porticando is an Italian language an culture school situated in Turin’s historic city center. The medium sized school is family run and is a point of reference for those coming for the first time to Turin, Italy’s first capital. The school’s teachers know exactly what students learning our language need and will help you to get familiar with our language and Italy in very professional way. All courses are completed by cultural classes, extra-curricular activities and additional services (accommodation, study visa etc.) “Turin is located in a strategic position between the Alps and the Ligurian Sea, and next to the Langhe, home of famous wines like the Barolo. It is a city offering a lot to those looking for places off the beaten path, but rich in history, art and culture. Turin was founded by the Romans and brought to splendour by the Savoy family during Baroque. In 1861 it became Italy’s first Capital and from the 19th century on it was the driving force of Italy’s industry. Today, Turin is the home of many important museums, such as the National Museum of Cinema, the National Museum of Automobiles, the Egyptian museum and the Savoy family’s Royal Residences, today part of the UNESCO World Heritage.

Where we are

Though Turin is a big city, you can easily discover it by walking. While you have on the one side Turin’s green hillside and the River Po, you can walk in the city center under 18 km of arcades and enjoy historic cafés, elegant restaurants and shopping.

Our Italian language school

L’Italiano Porticando is open all year round and our students coming from all over the world can take advantage from many courses organized by the school, which go from individual classes to classes in small groups to intensive group classes. These courses can be combined with a cultural course on history of art, architecture, literature, cinema or music. Students interested in taking a certification like a CILS, CELI or PLIDA certification can attend a preparation course offered during the months before the exams. Those learning Italian for job reasons can attend a course on business Italian. Of course, it is also possible to attend at our school a long term course to come to Italy with a study visa!
In the afternoon the school offers a rich extracurricular programme which goes from walks to discover the historic city center to visits to museums and residences to wine and chocolate tastings and cooking classes.
On several weeks per year the school offers a special programme for 50+ students and, upon request, special programmes for groups visiting Turin.
