Italian language school in Florence – Tuscany
The ABC Italian language and culture school in Florence has been teaching Italian as a foreign language since 1982.
Our courses are aimed at international students of all ages and are all intensive.
CLASSES are SMALL (maximum 10 students) and teachers can follow the path and progress of each individual student.
The rich SOCIO-CULTURAL PROGRAM encourages students to speak Italian in different contexts.
THE TEACHERS are QUALIFIED AND EXPERIENCED: thanks to the DIRECT TEACHING METHOD everyone can speak Italian right away. The teaching material is produced by the school and constantly updated following the real needs of the students.
Where we are
The ABC school is located in Oltrarno, on the left bank of the river that crosses the city, a stone’s throw from Ponte Vecchio. Oltrarno is a very lively and authentic neighborhood, full of artisanal activities and art workshops, away from the tourist flows and in contact with the daily life of the Florentines. Near the school there are bars, restaurants, shops and gardens in which to relax or study. It is the ideal starting point for visiting and experiencing the city. Our headquarters directly overlooks the river and enjoys a magnificent view of the most important monuments. The classrooms are large and bright, with frescoed ceilings, equipped with wifi. A library and a study room are reserved for students.

Our Italian language school
At the ABC school you can choose from a wide variety of courses for all your Italian language study needs:
Long-term courses, intensive courses, short courses, group courses combined with individual lessons, Italian and art history courses, Italian and literature courses, preparation for Italian language exams (the school is an AIL and CILS exam center), courses for adults 50+, courses for families with children, preparation for university exams, individual courses or in groups of 2 or 3 people, courses for school groups, Italian and cooking, online courses, gap year in Italy. The school is a partner of universities in the USA and Europe for the study abroad program.
We give great importance to the cultural aspect and the rich program of socio-cultural activities includes visits to museums and monuments in Florence, walks, urban trekking, seminars on language, history, art history and Italian literature, visits to cities in Tuscany, evenings in pizzerias, cooking classes, tastings, yoga classes. The activities are led by our teachers and allow you to be together even in the afternoon and on Saturdays.
The ABC school is also located in Sestri Levante (Liguria) giving the possibility of being able to carry out the linguistic stay also in a location on one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy.
The school is recognized by the Italian Ministry of University and Research, for the Bildungsurlaub (Germany) and for the CSN (Sweden).
